fridayness.

01. i've never been colder in all my years than i have in january 2013. i hear the sirens of february calling.... and i'm ready for it. in fact, i'm ready for may. we could skip right over the next three months and i'd be quite alright. except for a week in san diego and bestie jen's birthday come march. let's celebrate those and skip right through the rest, shall we?

02. i took the train into the office yesterday morning... and not too many minutes after we started gaining real speed, the train conductor? threw his foot? on the brakes? {i'm assuming a high speed train is like a car?}. one mile and a full set of screeching, burning brakes later, we came to a stop this close to a lucky duck, stopped head on, on the tracks.

03. i've started reading the book of mormon from the beginning.  all that runs through my head each day is this:

"if you keep my commandments, you shall be led to a land of promise."

it's a simple concept and the reward is too great to let slip from my hands.

04. i did a brave thing this week. i reached out to an unknown place, potentially exposing myself to rejection, and i don't like rejection. this simple thought has been nagging me for weeks by now. it grew louder and louder and LOUDER... until yesterday when i finally put a stop to the things i was doing and addressed the nag. and good news! that brave thing paid off! i was greeted with open arms to that unknown place.

martin luther king, jr. said "faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase."

05. i only have three movies to knock off my best picture list:

silver lining's playbook
django unchained
amour

i'll see silver lining tomorrow night with bestie jen. django... we'll get to sometime.  and if not, i hear the violence isn't worth the price of admission. and amour doesn't come out until mid feb. i don't feel super stressed about getting the movies in this year like i usually do. plus, they're all really really good.  i saw life of pi this week... you'll either love it or you'll hate it.  i fell in the group of the former. i also saw the impossible... which was so so so good. with a decent rating, even!

06. in the continuing saga of Aubry's Search for Boots, i'm giving the slimpack's to bestie jen and getting my hands on a pair of cate the greats {on super sale} {the red and blue stitching!} never content, this girl...

07. i scored on a sale for hello apparel yesterday morning.  i had visions of wearing this {with those leggings and red tennis shoes above} around disneyland {in a week and a half!}. enough to keep me + my dole whip float warm... but not too much to make me hot. i'm also turning into one of those the-more-black-in-my-wardrobe-the-better people. classics only.

happy weekend my friends!  i'm heading to utah county tomorrow for a little annilygreen and maypole product styling and photo shoot with annie. i'm gearing up for a felt ball brickyard buffalo sale! i think stella got her blog groove back. january had to be good for something.

we saw the impossible last night and oh my...it was so good. it was really, really sad and hard to watch but such an amazing movie. i loved it.

we are going to see all the movies nominated for the oscars this year {inspired by you!} and all we have left to see is amour. i haven't seen django but my husband has and i'm not dying to see it so i think i'll pass on that one. i love love loved silver linings playbook. it was such a good year for movies!
